We have partnered with a global design and engineering consultancy who are expanding their business line by broadening their world class real-time seakeeping simulation and training service by adding a 3D modeller to their team on the South Coast of England. Our client have close to 50 offices in 10 countries around the world, stretching from Canada and the US into Europe, Asia and Australia and work across a multitude of markets including yachting, defence, and commercial vessel design. 

In this role as a 3D Modeller, you will be expected to work closely with the software development and 3D visualisation teams to design new 3D vessel models to be incorporated into the exclusive training and simulation software. You will also be expected to revisit previous legacy models and update them as changes and challenges to the shipping industry present themselves. There is also a requirement for the successful candidate to contribute to project deliverables as well as liaise with clients to understand project requirements.

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • 2-4 years’ experience working with a 3D modelling software package (Rhino, 3D Max etc)
     
  • The right to live and work in the UK
     
  • Familiarity with 2D technical designs and converting these to 3D
     
  • Excellent command of the English language
