Consortio have partnered with a world-renowned international Marine Consultancy that supplies a range of consultancy services, including forensic marine investigation, salvage consultation, and expert witness to a variety of maritime focused companies such as ship owners, manager, and P&I cubs around the world. Due to our client’s recent successes in the market and their ownership group investing heavily in the business they are looking for a Consultant Chief Engineer to join their growing team of Master Mariners, Naval Architects and Chief Engineers in the UK.

In this role as a Consultant Chief Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to a variety of consultancy services ranging from Inspections and Surveys, Marine Claims and Salvage/Wreck Removal, Expert Witness and Desktop surveys. Due to the nature of our client’s business and this office’s location you will be expected to react quickly to customers throughout the UK, Europe and further, using your key industry knowledge and experience to provide a perfect service to our client’s customers. This is a role for an Engineer that thrives in a high-pressure environment and can stand up to intense cross referencing in an arbitration or court environment. The successful candidate will be joining a company who have been holding a large market share for decades and is the perfect role for somebody who wants to remain on the nautical front line and continue getting out on site with field work. This role also requires somebody who can sell their own skills and our client’s services to new customers, growing the business further and earning a larger share in the market.

 

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Achieved your Chief Engineer status
     
  • Sailed as a 2nd Engineer as a minimum – deep sea commercial vessel
     
  • Preferably sailed with dual fuel engines
     
  • The ability to speak and write in fluent English
     
  • The right to live and work in the UK
     
  • A maximum of 1-2 years shore-based experience
     
  • Availability to travel, sometimes at short notice
