We are working with a fantastic business based in Singapore. Our client is a premium brand in the energy/LNG space. They provide core infrastructure to the gas sector that keeps Singapore’s lights and heat on. This complex business is very forward thinking and very commercially minded. This is all due to a fantastic new CEO who joined 2 years ago with a dream of modernising a successful business. The business itself is critical to Singapore however is still fairly small in terms of staff headcount. You would call them a small to medium sized business. This is great if you are someone who enjoys being able to create impact as in this business your voice will not be small. You can achieve results quickly and pivot as needed to see great success born from creative thinking.
The role itself is to be the Deputy Head of IT with eyes on becoming their Head of IT in the medium term. This role is all about succession planning for our client. The current Head Of IT has been with the business for 8 years and will be looking to mentor this person to take up his mantel over the course of a few years and then seek new challenges in his own career. This presents a fantastic opportunity for those who seek personal development without being dropped in at the deep end! You will head up a team of 8 on day one and report to the Head of IT. In due course more of the 13 person team will transfer over to you. You will work with the senior leadership team in the business to work on complex digitisation issues as well as working to drive ever more progress and efficiency from SAP. This is a role that requires you to understand both infrastructure and business applications. You will be required to understand how business works and have a voice that matters in discussing commercial matters around the business. How can IT say time and money?
To be suitable for this role you will be:
- 10 years experience plus in IT
- Have managed people before
- Have a strong understanding of infrastructure
- Have a strong understanding of business applications
- Hopefully have experience working with SAP HANA
- Excellent communicator. This role isn’t from you if you are afraid to speak up. This business wants to hear your thoughts so you must be confident to deliver them and debate in meetings.
- Hold Singapore right to live and work. No EP’s.
