The Role:
As an Electrical Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections and surveys of electrical systems onboard vessels and offshore installations, as well as at shipyards and land-based facilities. This role is vital to ensuring that marine assets meet both statutory regulations and class rules throughout their operational life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical surveys and inspections on a wide range of ships and offshore units, both in-service and new construction.
- Assess power generation and distribution systems, automation, control panels, and safety-critical electrical installations.
- Conduct audits in accordance with international standards and provide clear, technically sound reporting.
- Advise clients on compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Liaise with shipowners, shipyards, flag administrations, and other stakeholders during inspection processes.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering – land-based or, ideally, maritime-focused.
- Strong background in marine electrical systems, automation, and regulatory compliance.
- Degree-qualified in Electrical, Marine, or a related engineering discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of IACS rules, SOLAS, MARPOL, and IEC standards.
- Proven ability to write detailed reports and communicate findings effectively.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch language skills are beneficial.
- EU citizenship is essential due to work authorization requirements.#
- Willingness to travel across the Netherlands and occasionally within Europe.
