Consortio Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading shipyard operator in the Middle East to support the appointment of a Shipyard Facilities & Maintenance Manager. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to operational excellence, safety, and long-term asset reliability within a complex industrial environment. The shipyard plays a critical role in supporting regional maritime activity, and this hire will be instrumental in strengthening maintenance capability, improving equipment availability, and ensuring world-class standards across facilities and infrastructure.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the full maintenance function across the site. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a comprehensive maintenance strategy that balances reactive response with proactive, preventative practices to maximise operational uptime. Reporting to executive leadership, the role will oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, contractor management, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, implement KPIs, optimise maintenance systems, and drive initiatives that reduce downtime, extend asset life, and enhance overall operational performance. This position is vital to ensuring the shipyard operates safely, efficiently, and in line with international best practice.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related Engineering discipline, with significant experience in maintenance leadership within heavy industry, maritime, or large industrial facilities.
- Proven track record developing and implementing maintenance strategies, KPIs, policies, and continuous improvement programmes that deliver measurable gains in reliability and performance.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders in a high-risk operational environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), budgeting, and lifecycle asset management.
- Deep commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, with the ability to foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across all activities.
