Consortio have partnered with a global Marine Consultant who are looking to expand their marine team in Germany. Our client has nearly doubled their workforce over the last 12 months and are looking to continue that growth trend through 2021. Leading the market in marine casualty, our client is looking to keep their place at the head of the table.

Our client is looking for a German speaking 2nd Officer, Chief Mate or Master Mariner to join their shipping team and provide vital expertise to the Marine Casualty, Investigation and Survey business stream. In this role, you will be expected to work autonomously conducting ship survey’s and writing vital reports for P&I clubs, as well as the legal system, to get to the bottom of what the root cause of the casualty was. This is a job where you can have a real-world influence on the shipping industry, where you can find yourself at the centre of maritime politics – because of this, it is vital that you must be somebody who can work under ever increasing pressure, handling complex and sensitive issues all while remaining focussed and objective.

 

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Sailed as a 2nd officer, Chief Mate or Master Mariner
     
  • 2-5 years shore-based experience
     
  • The ability to speak fluent German and English
     
  • Current relationships in the P&I market
     
  • An EU passport
