Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Metocean Engineer/Oceanographic Technician to join our expanding team, Europe’s leading independent metocean provider for the renewables and low-carbon industries. Renowned for delivering high-quality and safe metocean monitoring campaigns to the growing renewable industries across Europe, we have worked on every floating windfarm in the UK to date
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including planned and preventative maintenance, test and inspection, calibration, and setup of various specialist instrumentation and oceanographic moorings, all prepared for deployment in the marine environment. Your role will also involve strict adherence to project management systems, such as QHSE procedures, ensuring accurate completion of project and equipment documentation to maintain ISO accreditation. Additionally, you will actively participate in project mobilizations and servicing of seabed systems, metocean buoys, and fixed systems like wave radar and tide gauges. You'll also play a crucial role in assisting with the preparation of project documentation in alignment with legislation, regulation, industry best practices, and client requirements, ensuring all deliverables meet stringent standards. Furthermore, your responsibilities will include the preparation of factual survey reports to a high standard, all while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Educated to level 3 or above in science, engineering, electrical or mechanical installations
- Experience with writing Risk Assessments & Method Statements
- Demonstrable experience in the practical delivery of technical projects, including equipment knowledge, engineering design and experience with the deployment/installation of instrumentation in coastal and offshore environments
- Practical workboat experience, including lifting operations
- Full driving licence
- A Willingness to travel, predominantly UK and Europe, you will be flexible and adaptable due to the working patterns, changing with the weather and vessel availability
