Naval Architect

Consortio have partnered with a rapidly expanding marine design and engineering business working across the yacht, commercial and specialist vessel sectors. Their portfolio covers a wide range of technically challenging projects, from luxury and performance yachts through to commercial and military craft. Due to continued expansion and a growing project pipeline, they are now looking to strengthen their Naval Architecture team and you could be their perfect next hire!

They are looking to bring on an experienced Naval Architect with a strong interest in Yacht Design and the technical ability to work across a varied portfolio of projects. You will be involved in 3D modelling, surface development, stability calculations, performance analysis and technical R&D, working across different vessel types and design requirements. Experience with structural design, propulsion and mechanical systems would also be highly beneficial. This is a role where you will have the opportunity to contribute technically, develop new ideas and work with modern design tools throughout the project lifecycle. 

To be eligible for this role you need to:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Have relevant experience in Naval Architecture or Yacht Design.
• Be highly proficient in Rhino and 3D CAD.Have experience with A-Class surfaces.
• Have experience using ORCA 3D or similar stability software.
• Have a strong understanding of stability calculations to ISO or Class standards.Have strong technical and analytical skills, with an interest in R&D.
• Be fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Be positive, collaborative and willing to travel when required.
• Experience with performance analysis, propulsion, mechanical systems or structural design would be advantageous.
