Consortio have partnered with an international Marine Towage Operator who are, due to a desire to grow and expand, looking to make multiple additions to their technical and operations team over the remainder of the year. Our client is a specialised operator and have a dominant market share in the UK and in other shipping hubs around the world, and would like to find their next Port Manager to contribute heavily to the management their London and South East operations.
As London Port Manager your responsibilities will focus on 4 priority areas: Financial and Commercial Management, Personnel Safety, Operation Management and Customer Service. With the port of London currently benefitting from Freeport status, our client is looking for a technical and marine background who also has experience of working astutely in a commercial and BD environment. The successful candidate here would be expected to drive company culture and shape company policy, as well manage staff performance and ensure all operations comply with current health and safety, environmental and marine regulatory standards. With a team of over 80 people to work with and monitor, the majority of which are sailing crew, our client is keen to have a Port Manager who has previously sailed and has shore-based management experience.
The qualify for this role you must have:
- Sailed as a 2nd Engineer or 2nd Officer
- A degree or equivalent in management or a marine related topic
- Experience of working with-in and managing a budget/P&L
- Through understanding of Marine safety standards – ISM would be advantageous
- The right to live and work in the UK
