We have partnered with a global and respected P&I club who are looking to expand their Marine Underwriting team in Hamburg, Germany. Our client is currently experiencing a huge demand in growth for their services and have used this to extend their business offerings, as well as focus heavily on M&A through Europe and North America.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be expected to provide full technical underwriting with the aim of retaining current business and developing contemporary opportunities with new clients. The successful candidate will also manage relationships with end clients and brokers to continually offer a bespoke and high level of service. Due to the senior nature of this role, you will also be expected to take some of the mentoring and management responsibilities, weigh in on business critical decisions and develop over time a vibrant team in Hamburg.

 

To qualify for this role you must have

 

•             10 years minimum experience in P&I (Underwriting preferable) 

•             Strong team working skills

•             Experience developing new clients as well as account management

•             Willingness to travel frequently

•             Fluent in English (spoken and written) – German or other European languages a bonus
