Consortio have partnered with a world leading marine consultancy, accident investigation firm. The company has been running and leading the market for over 100 years and are known as the go to firm for forensic analysis, expert witness work and casualty investigation. They provide specialist advice on a wide range of inter-disciplinary including nautical services, marine engineering, and non-destructive testing. Due to the company’s ongoing success, they are looking to expand their current team and you could be their perfect next hire.

They are looking to bring on a person with a background as a Metallurgist and day to day you will travel the world providing forensic style investigation of cmetals. This will require extensively surveying vessels and interviewing of people to come to an expert conclusion of what went wrong and who is to blame. You will be working on behalf of ship owners, managers and P&I clubs who will hire our client to provide an experts opinion of the casualty. This is an extremely rewarding line of work! You will have to write reports based on your findings and be heavily involved in arbitration and litigation which may have you in court providing evidence and holding up to cross examination.

To be elligible for this role you need:

  • Highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience managing a small team of matallurgists
  • Have an expert witness background or have litigation skills.
  • Have the right to live and work in England / Singapore or the US.
  • Have a Masters or PhD in Metallurgy.
  • Great communication skills. 
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office.
