Consortio have partnered with a globally established marine design and engineering consultancy who are looking to expand their bespoke yachting team with the acquisition of a Senior Structural Engineer. Our client has state of the art offices dotted around the world, with this location on the South coast of England focusing heavily on naval architecture, marine and mechanical design and design analysis of the market’s newest and largest motor and sail powered superyachts.

In this role as a Senior Structural Engineer, my client is looking for an experienced engineer who will be able to provide both design an engineering expertise to the Structural Engineering team, but also to mentor and manage members of the design team, using your experience to support and guide colleagues to ensure the required project deliverables are completed to the highest standard and to the agreed deadline.

Due to the highly autonomous and client facing nature of the role, my client is looking for somebody who can manage their own and other’s time and communicate openly is a commercial and technical environment. The next step in career progression for this role is to become Principal Structural Engineer – this is a business management level role.


To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Experience working in Defence or Yacht Design
  • Experience leading a small team/project
  • 6+ years of structural design and analysis experience
  • Strong communication skills – Fluency in English essential
  • The ability to live or relocate to the UK
