Ship Broker

Our client is a ship management and logistics company with almost 40 years of experience in the industry. The recent events of the past 3 years has caused many companies in the dry industry to struggle and collapse, however, the success driven nature of our client has still allowed them to operate on a global scale. In fact, the smaller newer office based in Dubai is still responsible for the brokering of 300 ships per year. They are a close knitted team that are constantly driven by success that is consisted of a team of hungry brokers that are always looking at the next step ahead.

This role is for a ship broker to join their offices in Dubai and be part of a team of 5 individuals and be responsible for the brokering of bulk carriers ranging from the size of handy to panamax. You will be directly reporting to the brokering manager who promotes independent work and essentially lets you work for your own personal business. You are expected to have your own built-up network in the dry industry and have the adaptability to instantly slot into your new role, grow your network and make deals from day 1. In addition to this you will need a personable style and you will have to hold your clients needs in the highest regard.

In order to be a successful candidate, you will need:
 

• 5 years + experience in the dry brokering industry
   
• Be an independent worker
   
• Have the ability to build your own personal network
   

Other desirable qualities include:
 

• Knowledge of the local market in Dubai
   
• Speak Arabic and / or Hindi
