Technical Manager - Senior Naval Architect

Consortio have partnered with a globally revered Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering consultancy who are looking to expand their management team. Our client are known the world over for their specialisation in yachts, commercial and naval vessels, as well as for utilising state of the art technology to further their development and improve the services they provide to their customers.

In this role as a Technical Manager, you will be expected to manage and undertake a variety of tasks relating to conceptual design development. This includes reviewing and writing technical reports, internal approval of conceptual drawings as well as the development of specification documentation. Due to the expansive and wide-ranging disciplines within the team, you will also be expected to liaise directly with the team leaders of the Structural Design team, Mechanical design team and the Outfit Design engineers to ensure every project is on time and to specification. The technical manager is also responsible for the monitoring and management of the Naval Architecture team and their tasks – this could range from hull line optimization or incline testing, all the way through to model testing and seakeeping calculations.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A degree in Naval Architecture
  • 8 years’ experience minimum
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Excellent shipyard/production experience
  • Fantastic communication skills
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • Experience in a client facing role
