Our client is an internationally renowned ship owner who are currently expanding their fleet over the next 3 years. Our client is also diversifying currently by bringing new vessels to their fleet to respond to the ever-increasing need of mobile production platforms. They currently own a sizable fleet of LNG vessels.


At present, our client is looking for a Purchaser to join their team of highly motivated individuals. In this position, you will be responsible for the cost effective and timely supplies of main line commodities, stores and services for assigned ships.  You will be expected to maintain positive relationships and cooperate with the ship’s crew and superintendents to ensure continuous improvement in the purchasing and logistics process and to minimize communication errors. One of the main responsibilities of this vacancy is to ensure that the database and records of purchases are up to date and correct. On top of this, a strong working relationship with suppliers is essential, to ensure efficient delivery of the good or service. This will naturally maximise the possibility to negotiate better deals, benefiting the company.  


A successful candidate:
 

  • Must possess great communication skills.
     
  • Must have a background in purchasing in the Maritime sector.
     
  • Must be a good negotiator.
     
  • ShipNET knowledge desirable.
