Our client is a family owned German shipping company who have seen great success through their extensive time in the market. Over the course of their life span they have built up a strong presence in both Hamburg as well as Singapore and own a fleet of container ships. Even though the dry market has been a tough one over the course of the last 5 years they have still maintained a strong profit and look likely to continue this trend. They have also been slowly moving in to ship management and would be interested to expand their portfolio of managed ships over the next couple of years.

The role is for a Technical Superintendent who will be responsible for all technical aspects of the Containers under their command. You will ensure all vessels are compliant with the most recent maritime legislation. In this role you will also oversee the dry docking process of the vessels you are responsible for. A key responsibility will also be travelling to inspect your vessels whilst they are on a voyage.

To be suitable for this role you will be:

  • Qualified with at least a Class two Motor ticket.

  • Experienced with Containerships

  • Extensively experienced onshore working as a Technical Superintendent.

  • An excellent communicator.

  • A strong negotiator Right to live and work in the EU

In return for working in this role you will be offered an excellent salary for the dry market plus benefits. The reason that you will be interested to get in to this role will be centred on your desire for progression as well as enjoyment of getting to work for an owner. This would be a really interesting role for anyone that has been working for a ship manager for a long time that would like to see the other side of the market.
