Technical Superintendent

Our client is a ship owner and ship management company with over 100 years of rich history in the industry. The dry market has faced extreme challenges over the past 3 years however through great leadership and perseverance they have still managed to maintain a strong presence and are adding to their already 30 strong fleet of bulk carriers. They are a company steeped in tradition and are comprised of an array of forward-thinking individuals that help the company consistently reach new heights.

This role is for a Technical Superintendent to join their team and help oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of 4 ships through guiding and coaching your Engineers.  You will become part of a dedicated positive team overseeing your vessels by ensuring the crew are performing their jobs correctly and keeping to the deadlines and targets set by the Fleet Manager / Director. You will coach and develop engineers on board your ships to be the best they can be in their roles and provide day to day technical support to your ships. You will manage vessel budgets and operating expenditure as well as dealing with the planning and implementation of dry dockings as required.
 

Successful candidate’s must
 

• Have sailed as a Chief Engineer on dry / cargo vessels
   
• Have at least 2 years Technical Superintendent experience with dry / cargo vessels
   
• Be comfortable with planning and adhering to fiscal budgets.
   
• Be a clear communicator and forward thinker
