Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor

The Role
Consortio Recruitment Group have partnered with a contractor that delivers some of the most amazing superstructures in London. We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to support Commercial Managers/Project Quantity Surveyors providing commercial expertise on all commercial aspects of reinforced concrete sub-structure and superstructure projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, nuclear, energy from waste and HS2.
The ideal candidate
With at least 5 years quantity surveying experience, and having previously worked on sub and superstructure packages, specifically with concrete/RC Frame structures and basements, the ideal candidate will hold a Quantity Surveying degree and a valid CSCS card and be able to demonstrate the following skill set:
Determination to excel within the role and execute responsibilities with due care & diligence, and attention to detail;
Demonstrate a genuine interest in construction
Have good numeracy and literacy skills
Technically familiar and cost aware with an extensive knowledge of the construction process;
Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office, notably Excel, and bespoke packages (including COINS, Conquest and Candy)
Commercially aware and ability to Identify commercial risk & opportunity
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels
Self-motivated and proactiveGood organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
Working knowledge of JCT and NEC Forms of Contract and Subcontract
