Crewing Manager

Our client is an integrated shipping company that specialises in the transportation of chemicals and gas.  With roots in both Europe and Asia they are in prime positon to operate and manage deep sea trade of petrochemical and gasses.  Working closely with the majors and listening to their needs they have become specialist in transporting their products efficiently and safely, part of this success stems from the high importance they place on the leadership team.

Due to the modernisation of the organisation outlined in its 5 year business plan they are looking to hire a Crewing manager.  You will be to act as the senior manager of all crew, handling all aspects of Crew management and many HR tasks.  The position provides broad experience within the maritime industry and the potential to progress further in your career.  You must ensure that the crew deliver the best possible service, coordinating any training or promotions. All aspects of Crew Management become your responsibility, including the handling of personnel related budgets and travel budgets. Further duties will include assessing the suitability of the staff employed, ensuring they are within the legal guidelines of the vessel for rank, qualifications and medical certificates.
 

Successful candidates:
 

• Will have sailed as a deck officer in a senior rank.
• Must have 5 years plus in Crewing departments.
• Will have experience crewing tankers.
• Should be an engaing coach and effective leader of teams.
