Crewing Operator

Consortio Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected shipmanagement organisation with a strong reputation for operational excellence and professional crew management across its fleet. As the company continues to develop its shore-based operations, we are supporting them in the appointment of an organised and proactive Crewing Operator to join their Maritime HR team and play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of seafarers.

The Crewing Operator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination of crew movements and ensuring all crew-related activities are completed accurately, efficiently and in full compliance with company procedures, STCW and Flag State requirements. Working closely with the Crewing Fleet Manager and wider Maritime HR team, the successful candidate will coordinate crew changes, monitor qualifications and training, assist with medical cases and travel arrangements, and ensure accurate communication between departments. This is a key operational position where strong organisation, attention to detail and effective communication are essential to maintaining the smooth running of the fleet.

Key Requirements:

• Maritime Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience working either onboard a vessel or ashore within a shipping, shipmanagement or maritime organisation, with a good understanding of the operational requirements of seafarers.
• Crew Management Knowledge: Experience or understanding of crew changes, Seafarers’ Employment Agreements, crew documentation and ensuring seafarers meet Company, STCW and Flag State training and certification requirements.
• Organisation & Administration: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple crew movements, travel arrangements, employment changes and associated administrative responsibilities accurately and within deadlines.
• Communication & Teamwork: Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with seafarers, internal departments, vessels and external stakeholders.
• The Crewing Operators will work closely together and provide effective cover for one another when required.
• IT & Professional Approach: Good computer skills, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adopt new systems and procedures. The successful candidate should be comfortable working within a structured Management System and committed to continual improvement.
