Consortio Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected shipmanagement organisation with an excellent reputation for operational excellence, safety, quality and compliance across its fleet. With a strong presence within the maritime industry and a continued focus on developing its shore-based operations, the company is now looking to strengthen its QSHE function with the appointment of an experienced maritime professional to join the team.
The Deputy Designated Person Ashore (DDPA) will play a vital role within the organisation, working closely with the QSHE Manager / DPA to ensure the effective implementation and continuous development of the Company’s Management System. This is an important position that will contribute directly to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, security and environmental performance throughout the office and fleet. The successful candidate will also provide crucial support to the DPA, acting on their behalf during periods of absence and ensuring the QSHE department continues to operate efficiently and effectively.
Key Requirements:
- Senior Seagoing Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in a command position, providing a strong practical understanding of vessel operations, safety management and the challenges faced by onboard teams.
- DPA & Regulatory Knowledge: Practical training for the role of Designated Person Ashore in accordance with IMO MSC-MEPC.7/Circ.6, together with a strong working knowledge of international maritime rules, regulations, industry guidelines and recommendations.
- QSHE Experience: Demonstrable training and experience in internal auditing, incident investigation and risk management, with the ability to identify risks, investigate significant incidents and support effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, managerial and communication skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively across shore-based departments and with vessels throughout the fleet.
- Professional Approach: A proactive and adaptable attitude, willingness to learn and adopt new systems and ideas, and a strong command of the English language. The successful candidate should have a genuine commitment to continual improvement, safety, quality and environmental awareness.
If you are an experienced maritime professional with the seagoing command experience and QSHE/DPA background required for this position, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your shore-based career.
