An established specialist marine business supplying equipment and services across the UK marine sector is seeking an Electrical & Marine Technician to support a growing portfolio of installation, maintenance and commissioning projects.
The business works with ports, harbour authorities, marine contractors and organisations responsible for marine infrastructure, providing specialist equipment including Aids to Navigation systems, navigation lights, buoys, mooring equipment, remote monitoring and marine safety equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, inspection and testing, fault finding, commissioning and maintenance across a range of customer sites. The role will also involve specialist marine systems including navigation lighting, control equipment, remote monitoring and telemetry, as well as solar, battery and low-voltage DC systems.
Previous marine experience is not essential, with the role suited to an experienced electrician looking to develop specialist knowledge within the marine and Aids to Navigation sector.
To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:
- Level 3 electrical qualification or recognised electrical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition BS 7671
- Experience in electrical installation and fault finding
- Inspection and Testing qualification, such as 2391 or equivalent, is preferred
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away overnight when required
- Strong practical approach with the ability to work independently on customer sites
- Experience within industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, solar, batteries, telemetry or marine environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
The position offers paid overtime, specialist product and marine industry training, access to a company vehicle for project and site work, and the opportunity to develop within a growing installation and service operation.
The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis with regular travel to ports, harbours and customer sites throughout the UK. You must have the right to live and work in the UK.
