Consortio our working with a large 3rd party ship manager with offices located throughout Europe and Asia.  They incorporate full technical management, crew management, new build management, technical consultancy and crew training in their services to clients.  This 360-degree style of business has won them contracts hand over fist and they are currently in full management of over 50 vessels from their Asian office.  It is for this office that our client requires a Fleet Manager to support them in the technical management of Bulk Carriers.
 

This role is for a Fleet Manager who will oversee a team of 3 Technical Superintendents. You will be responsible for managing the budget spend and ensuring profitability is attained. In this role you will also assist in the training and development of all members of staff in your team. Another key element of this position will be acting as the conduit between the more junior members of staff and management.
 

Successful candidate’s must
 

  • Have sailed as a marine engineer/deck officer to at least a 2nd engineer/chief mate.
     
  • Have worked as a Fleet Manager with a ship management company.
     
  • Have experience working with Bulk Carries.
     
  • Have experience of the Asian shipping market.
     
  • Proven record of managing people and able to face tough conversations.
