Our client is an established maritime organisation operating a modern fleet of gas carriers that transport LPG, petrochemicals and other specialised cargoes across global trade routes. With an international workforce and a strong operational footprint, the company plays a key role in supporting major energy and commodity supply chains. Their culture is built around safety, innovation and continuous improvement, supported by experienced teams both at sea and ashore.

This position focuses on strengthening technical performance and enhancing incident-related processes across the fleet. You will take the lead in conducting structured investigations, identifying root causes, and supporting the development of preventative strategies that improve safety and operational reliability. The role also involves close collaboration with internal departments to translate findings into updated procedures, training content and long-term improvement initiatives, ensuring lessons learned become part of the organisation’s ongoing development.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Chief Engineer)

  • At least 1 year of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on tanker vessels, or 2 years as Second Engineer

  • Prior experience in a ship management or equivalent technical shore role, or 3+ years in a tanker company with similar responsibilities

  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage a demanding operational schedule

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently with a results-focused approach

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with varied operational demands

This opportunity offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with the chance to contribute meaningfully to a forward-thinking maritime organisation. You will work alongside experienced professionals committed to high standards of safety and performance. The company places strong emphasis on professional development and long-term career growth. It is an excellent role for individuals seeking to progress within a respected and internationally active fleet.
