This position focuses on strengthening technical performance and enhancing incident-related processes across the fleet. You will take the lead in conducting structured investigations, identifying root causes, and supporting the development of preventative strategies that improve safety and operational reliability. The role also involves close collaboration with internal departments to translate findings into updated procedures, training content and long-term improvement initiatives, ensuring lessons learned become part of the organisation’s ongoing development.
The requirements for this role are:
- Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Chief Engineer)
- At least 1 year of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on tanker vessels, or 2 years as Second Engineer
- Prior experience in a ship management or equivalent technical shore role, or 3+ years in a tanker company with similar responsibilities
- Ability to travel at short notice and manage a demanding operational schedule
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently with a results-focused approach
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with varied operational demands
