Consortio has partnered with a well-established international marine consultancy to recruit a skilled Marine Cargo Surveyor. This role centres on independent surveying of cargo operations, delivering accurate assessments and professional reporting for a wide range of maritime stakeholders.
As a Marine Cargo Surveyor, responsibilities include conducting on-site surveys covering loading, stowage, discharge, and condition inspections. This involves assessing and documenting cargo condition, packaging, securing methods, and handling practices. In the event of incidents, the role requires investigating and evaluating the cause, nature, and extent of damage, then compiling detailed survey reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations. The position also demands maintaining professional communication with ship owners, charterers, insurers, and other relevant stakeholders.
To be Eligable for this role you must have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maritime transport, marine surveying, or cargo inspection.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
- Fluent written and spoken English for precise reporting.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently while travelling at short notice.
