Our client is a medium size global trader of marine fuels . They have the desire to push forwards their organic expansion plans thus are aiming to bring a few good Bunker Traders in to their team. Working out of many of their international offices they have a team of some of the best traders in the world who are competitive and enjoy the thrill of the sale. They are highly motivated to push hard against the biggest names in the industry and know the personal touch is what makes a solid deal happen.

 

About the Role:

 

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Senior Bunker Trader to join a growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced trader who not only thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments but also has a clear vision for leadership and team development.

As a Senior Bunker Trader, you will manage key accounts, develop new business, and play a pivotal role in shaping our trading strategy. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior traders and contribute to the broader commercial direction of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of clients across shipping, logistics, and energy sectors.
  • Negotiate and execute bunker fuel transactions with precision and integrity.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and risk to optimize trading performance.
  • Collaborate with operations, credit, and finance teams to ensure seamless deal execution.
  • Lead by example—supporting, mentoring, and coaching junior traders.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  • Prepare to step into a leadership or managerial role as the team expands.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in bunker trading or marine fuels.
  • Proven track record of revenue generation and client retention.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for leadership and team success.
  • Ambition to grow into a managerial or team lead role.
