With over 80 vessels in their fleet, our client are one of the largest ship owners within the dry bulk market. The maritime industry has faced extreme challenges over the past 3 years and the dry market has perhaps felt the worse hit as a result of the pandemic. However, through great perseverance and leadership, our client has not only overcome such challenges but is now considered to be a market leader within the bulk segment. As a result of this success, they were able to transport over 70 million tonnes of cargo in 2022 and this number is set to increase in 2023. The only way is up for this company and they have further fleet expansion in the pipeline for this year and the years to come.
 

The role is for a Marine Operations Manager to join their expanding team and help oversee the day-to-day operations of their fleet of 80 vessels. You will be responsible for the vetting and commercial aspects of all the vessels within the fleet as well as being directly involved with the chartering team, voyage planners and vessel operators. In addition to this, a large aspect of the role will involve incident investigation, so you will be expected to have experience within this field and be completely knowledgeable of incident investigation processes.
 

In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and experience:
 

  • Sailing experience as a chief officer or master mariner on board.
     
  • Bulk CarriersMinimum 2 years’ experience in a marine operations or marine superintendent role.
     
  • Be well versed in Incident Investigation and have relevant experience within this field.
     
  • Fluency in English – both written and verbal.
     
  • Be a Team Player.
