Consortio is proud to be working with a prestigious maritime training provider in search of a Nautical Lecturer. This is a rare opportunity to transition from a seafaring career into a role where you will shape the future of the Merchant Navy by training and mentoring the next generation of deck officers and nautical professionals.

Joining a team of dedicated professionals, you will play a key role in delivering world-class maritime education. With state-of-the-art facilities and a brand-new building set to open in 2025, this institution provides an outstanding environment for both students and staff. Your responsibilities will include preparing and delivering course material, assessing student progress, managing and administering specified courses, and providing mentorship. A significant part of the role involves working with simulators, making prior simulator experience highly desirable.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Officer of the Watch Unlimited (or higher) qualification
  • Experience in deck operations, ideally within the Merchant Navy
  • A passion for teaching and developing future marine professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Right to work in the UK (either permanent or limited-time post-education)
  • Previous lecturing or instructional experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Familiarity with maritime training simulators is a strong advantage

This position offers an excellent work-life balance with a 37-hour workweek (Monday to Friday), 48 days of annual leave including bank holidays, and the opportunity to join an attractive pension scheme. The institution fosters a supportive environment with ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities. If you are ready to take the next step in your career and play a key role in shaping the next generation of nautical professionals, apply now with your CV.
