The Principal FEA Engineer will lead engineering workstreams and guide a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful programme delivery. Acting as a senior technical authority, the successful candidate will conduct Finite Element Analysis on submarine propulsor structures under quasi-static and dynamic conditions, develop and review FEA models and technical documentation, and approve work packages and drawings. The role ensures delivery to scope, time, and budget while maintaining strong safety and governance standards. It also involves mentoring engineers and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

  • Significant experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong background in structural design to recognised maritime or civil codes
  • Proven experience in Finite Element Analysis of complex structures and systems
  • Proficiency in Abaqus and CAD software
  • BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • British Citizen
