Senior Plan Approval Engineer

Consortio has partnered with a leading organisation within the maritime engineering and technical assurance sector to recruit a Senior Plan Approval Engineer. The successful candidate will support the review, assessment, and approval of ship designs, ensuring compliance with international safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

The role will focus primarily on tanker vessels, requiring strong technical expertise in tanker design, structural assessment, and regulatory compliance, alongside responsibility for tonnage calculations and design evaluations across complex marine projects.

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Engineering qualification in Naval Architecture, Maritime Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the maritime engineering industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with tanker vessels, including design review, structural assessment, or technical approval.
• Proven experience in plan approval, ship design evaluation, and tonnage calculations.
• Strong understanding of ship structures, tanker-specific design requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong communication skills, with confidence engaging across technical teams and external stakeholders.
