Over the years they have forged longstanding working relationships with our numerous clients and the business has expanded into general building, including new builds and extensions.The company as it stands has around 80% of their business in brickwork and 20% in extensions. They have a turnover of around £6M per year and a great business strategy. The ideal person will be familiar with brickwork packages and build.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of quantity surveying, including procurement, cost control, and commercial management. They will liaise with clients and contractors to provide advice on contractual matters to deliver projects on time and within budget. The role with be hybrid with 1 days home working, the rest office and site visits.
Key Requirements
- Significant experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry, including contract negotiation, tendering, variations and procurement
- Excellent understanding of cost control techniques and commercial awareness
- Strong relationship in management skills, liaising at all levels both internally and externally
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Measuring works on site
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of mathematical and financial reports
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in the relevant construction field
- Experience of providing fully quantity surveying service on large scale projects
- Proficiency in MS Excel
Salary/package
- Salary paying up to £70k plus package.
