Our client is an established global ship-management organisation with extensive maritime experience, overseeing a diverse fleet that includes dry bulkers, tankers, gas carriers, and general cargo vessels. They provide end-to-end technical and crew management services, manage newbuilding and conversion projects, and are committed to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and environmentally responsible shipping practices.
In this position based in Singapore, you will take charge of the technical oversight for a dedicated fleet segment, ensuring all vessels meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include planning and supervising maintenance and repair activities, monitoring vessel performance, coordinating dry docking projects, and ensuring compliance with ISM, ISO, and flag-state requirements. You will liaise closely with shipboard teams, shore-based operations, procurement, and HSSE departments, while also mentoring junior superintendents and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.
The requirements for this role are:
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Technical Superintendent in a ship management environment
- Previous sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on deep-sea commercial vessels (dry or wet)
- Strong knowledge of machinery, propulsion systems, and onboard technical operations
- Experience in maintenance planning, dry docking, and technical audits
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Must be based in Singapore
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking, technically-focused ship management company. You will work within a professional and international team, gain exposure to a modern and varied fleet, and play a key role in driving operational excellence, safety standards, and sustainable practices in a dynamic maritime environment.
