Our client is a large international shipping business who have ships such as Container, LNG, RORO and bulk. They have offices in nearly every core shipping country in the world and with their international presence they are considered a highly sought-after business to work for. They uphold a core set of values which revolve around safety, people development and a strong team effort to draw a healthy profit.  With expansion set to continue they require a Technical Superintendent to support them in the UK.
 

Core responsibilities will include overseeing all the technical parameters of your assigned vessels in order to ensure their safe and efficient running.  You should also be prepared to carry out all the procurement of technical spares in coordination with ship managers in order to keep cost under control.  Further duties will include preparing the dry dockings and ensuring they are kept within budget while assisting with pre purchase technical analysis of new purchases.
 

Successful candidates
 

  • Should have prior experience sailing as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on container vessels.
     

 

  • Would be preferred if they have prior Techical Superintendent experience.
     

 

  • Must have excellent knowledge of the English language and communicate to high standards.

     
  • Should have extensive knowledge of PMS and SMS systems.
