The Training & Safety Manager will be integral in ensuring the preparedness and safety of cruise ship crews. This role involves establishing and maintaining a comprehensive Competency Matrix specifically tailored to the cruise line's needs. Key responsibilities include the development, review, and continuous improvement of shipboard emergency operations, such as muster lists, matrices, and emergency team training. The manager will also ensure compliance with training-related regulations, design and implement effective training plans, oversee onboard trainers, and manage the client’s Learning Management System (LMS).
Qualifications:
- Seagoing experience in a management position, or a university degree with a minimum of five years of experience in the maritime industry.
- Experience in Cruise and/or passenger vessel training, safety, and emergency procedures, including management and design.
- A strong command of the English language.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable international and national maritime rules and regulations.
- Proven experience in course design and certification as a Trainer per IMO model course 6.09.
