Our client is a leading P&I insurance provider with a global presence, boasting a team of 210 professionals spanning various locations worldwide. Headquartered near Liverpool Street station in London, our offices extend to key maritime hubs including Bermuda, Brazil, Cyprus, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional underwriting services to our Syndicate, ensuring efficient operations and fostering strong relationships with both potential and existing Members. Your role will encompass various underwriting tasks, contributing to the overall success of the Syndicate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships between the Club and Members within your assigned portfolio.
  • Manage all underwriting activities within designated areas in adherence to company protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for loss prevention initiatives.
  • Provide cover in the absence of the Syndicate Manager.
  • Collaborate with Syndicate teams to ensure consistent underwriting practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements of company procedures and systems.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to Syndicate assistants and executives.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required, leveraging personal skills and capabilities.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills development.

Person Specification:

  • Possess a minimum of five years of P&I experience with either a P&I Club or P&I broker.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
  • Exhibit keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organized and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
