Our client stands as one of the world's oldest and most respected independent naval architects and yacht designers. Today, the company specializes in large superyacht design, both sail and power, utilizing the latest construction technology. We provide confidential, professional, independent services to clients, shipyards, and other designers around the world, using cutting-edge technology including 3D printing and VR.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and practical junior naval architect/CAD designer to join our welcoming team in The South. With a penchant for collaboration, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to precision, you'll thrive in our contemporary office environment. As an adept team player with a proactive mindset, your organizational skills and excellent communication abilities will be invaluable. This role offers diverse responsibilities, including general arrangement and detailed fit-out design, weight estimation, stability analysis, and overall engineering tasks. Your duties will involve creating and modify detailed drawings using CAD software, preparing design plans, layouts, and schematics in collaboration with senior designers and engineers, conducting thorough research to inform design decisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards through quality checks on drawings, and maintaining well-organized project files and documentation. Active participation in project meetings to provide valuable input will also be expected.

 

Requirements:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Honours degree in Naval Architecture
  • Minimum one year post-graduate work experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Autocad, Rhino 3D
  • Experience in Superyacht and power craft design
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
