Our client is a well-established global organisation operating within the maritime and shipping sector, recognised for its strong focus on safety, sustainability, and data-driven decision-making. With an international presence and a reputation for working closely with industry stakeholders, they continue to invest heavily in digital capability to support better operational and governance outcomes.

Our client is seeking a Marine Subject Matter Expert – AI Governance to support the oversight and quality assurance of AI-enabled systems used across the business. This role sits at the intersection of marine expertise and emerging technology, providing assurance that automated outputs align with industry standards, regulatory expectations, and real-world operational practice. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to review outputs, contribute to governance frameworks, and support continuous improvement across AI-driven products and processes.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Significant experience in maritime operations, assurance, safety, or related technical marine disciplines

  • A strong understanding of global maritime standards, regulatory environments, and industry best practice

  • An analytical and detail-focused approach with the ability to assess outputs for accuracy, consistency, and risk

  • Experience in auditing, quality assurance, review, or validation of complex information or systems

  • The ability to clearly document findings and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • A structured, evidence-based problem-solving mindset with a natural inclination to question and investigate anomalies

  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working across multidisciplinary teams

  • A genuine interest in technology, data, and the application of AI within safety-critical or regulated environments

This is a permanent opportunity offering location flexibility, competitive salary packaging, and long-term career development within a forward-thinking organisation. The role provides exposure to emerging technology initiatives while remaining grounded in core marine expertise and industry influence.
