Consortio is proud to partner with a globally recognised leader in the maritime industry, renowned for delivering independent marine expertise and supporting complex logistics and insurance operations worldwide.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Marine Cargo Surveyor to carry out cargo inspections, damage assessments, and vessel condition surveys. In this vital role, you will act as the on-site representative for clients, ensuring that cargo operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with international standards.
You’ll take responsibility for conducting field-based inspections, preparing technical reports, and advising on loss prevention and claims. The role offers significant autonomy and requires regular travel to ports, terminals, and vessels. You will also engage directly with stakeholders including shipowners, freight forwarders, insurers, and P&I clubs.
Key Requirements:
- Background in seagoing operations (Deck or Engine Officer), engineering, or maritime studies.
- Strong technical knowledge of cargo types, handling methods, and vessel operations.
- Experience in marine surveying, cargo inspection, or maritime logistics is preferred.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, operational environments.
- Flexible approach to travel, often at short notice.
- Valid UK driving licence and eligibility for international travel and port access.
