Consortio are proud to collaborate with a new client in Newark, UK, specializing in the maintenance and repair of various vessels, marine engines, auxiliary systems, and related equipment.

As a Marine Engineer, you will autonomously perform a diverse range of tasks, from conducting scheduled and ad-hoc mechanical repairs and overhauls on marine engines to diagnosing and repairing transmissions, generators, and other equipment. With your NVQ Level 3 in Engineering/Mechanics or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in engine diagnosis and repair, you'll thrive in this role. Your ability to work with autonomy while also contributing to an established team dynamic will be essential, as you plan and implement preventative maintenance schedules, advise customers on necessary maintenance, and operate a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering/Mechanics or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel and petrol engines
  • Experience as a marine engineer, including leisure craft systems
  • Knowledge of Mercury, Volvo, Yanmar Engines, Outdrives, and Honda Outboards
  • Understanding of engine designs and applications
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and environmental precautions
