Consortio has partnered with an exciting company dedicated to keeping Britain’s busiest inland waterway safe. They run the most up to date port control service and they see the safe movement of thousands of leisure and commercial vessels every year. They are responsible for 100 miles of river as well as protecting the environment and keep all users safe, they also promote the use of the river for trade and travel. Due to their continued success they are looking for a Marine Engineering Technician to join their company.

As a Marine Engineering Technician you will be undertaking all of the maintenance of hull systems and machinery for a fleet of commercial crafts, piers and shore facilities. You will get the chance to use highly developed diagnostic and analytical skills to fix problems in the electrical, mechanical and control systems for the fleet of vessels. Also undertaking maintenance and overhaul of engines and gearboxes to ensure all equipment conforms with safe working conditions.

To be eligible for this role you need to:

  • Have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Be a Marine or Industrial Mechanical Engineering Technician with a HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Have excellent communication and decision making skills.
  • Have 2 years post qualification experience within engineering services.
  • Have a full UK driving license.
