We are seeking an experienced Marine Fuel Back to Back Trader to join a dynamic team in London. The successful candidate will engage in the purchase and sale of marine fuel and associated products, fostering profitable and longstanding relationships with a portfolio of counterparties. This role requires a risk-aware perspective regarding credit risk and payment performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively market to a portfolio of new and existing customers.
  • Establish and build relationships to increase enquiries and sales of  products and services.
  • Communicate openly with other traders to maximize the efficient flow of market and customer intelligence.
  • Support international colleagues by diligently working on inbound enquiries from other regional offices.
  • Understand, analyze, and interpret market conditions.
  • Identify counterparty needs, provide product and price information, negotiate deals, and handle sales administration.
  • Proactively control credit risk by chasing late payments and minimizing claim costs.
  • Regularly assess counterparty financial strength in conjunction with the Credit Team.
  • Leverage the Group’s global network to develop and expand the company’s business portfolio.
  • Ensure all sales opportunities are identified and maximized.

 

Requirements:

  • Business-level English is essential.
  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Persuasive and influential, with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to listen and respond effectively to supplier/customer queries and solve problems.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, with an understanding of the wider business context.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and development.
