The role of Marine Superintendent within this prestigious company entails a significant responsibility for overseeing a group of vessels, ensuring daily supervision of marine activities with an unwavering commitment to excellence. Key responsibilities include managing ship-to-ship operations, mooring, cargo operations, tank cleaning, maintaining navigational practices, conducting vetting inspections, and adhering to port state control and flag inspections. The position demands a proactive approach to supporting regulatory and company policies, performing audits in line with ISM/ISPS/MLC standards, implementing industry regulations, and overseeing financial aspects related to vessels’ operating expenses. Reporting directly to the Head of Marine, the successful candidate will join a dedicated team, receiving comprehensive support to become acquainted with the fleet and embodying the company's values of teamwork, passion for shipping, and individual motivation.
Qualifications and Profile:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Marine, Vetting, or HSQE Superintendent role within tanker shipping companies.
- At least 2 years of sea service as a Master on tankers, with a preference for those experienced in Afra/Suez/VLCC categories.
- Exceptional command of English, both in written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently.
