My client is a leading maritime service provider, operating a diverse fleet of vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, and multi-purpose vessels. They prioritize safe navigation and onboard security, ensuring their officers and crew members regularly participate in specialized training programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure vessels' documentation is up-to-date and compliant with all legal regulations, such as ISM, UVV, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.Handle all relevant communication with flag states, classification societies, and other stakeholders.Conduct regular vessel inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Monitor and manage the performance of assigned vessels, including fuel consumption and operational efficiency.Coordinate with technical departments to plan and oversee maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities.Provide guidance and support to vessel crews to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.Investigate incidents and accidents, implement corrective actions, and develop preventive measures.Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure company compliance.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Completed studies in ship engineering or a related field.

Extensive work experience in a responsible position as Chief or Second Engineer.

Basic knowledge of business administration, including reporting and budget planning.

Good communication skills with fluency in English; proficiency in German is preferred.

Knowledge of the ISM system.

Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
