Our clients Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering team operates within the Maritime & Land business unit, comprising over 70 specialists. The group tackles a wide range of projects, from experimental testing and computational analysis to R&D for innovative design solutions, regulatory rule development, and safety management consulting. At the core of this work is a commitment to solving our customers' most complex maritime challenges.

They are seeking an experienced Naval Architect or Marine Engineer to join their technical teams. This role requires an advanced understanding of core technical concepts within your primary field, a foundational knowledge of adjacent areas, and the ability to apply this expertise and sound engineering judgment to solve customer challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Delivery: Deliver technical projects focused on surface ship and submarine hydrodynamics, acting as a Project Technical Lead or equivalent.
  • Leadership & Ownership: Ensure project outcomes meet customer expectations with a strong results-driven approach, overseeing the technical team, project planning, task allocation, and progress tracking.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers to understand and align with their goals, fostering a collaborative, transparent relationship.
  • Risk Management: Actively manage project risks, make well-communicated decisions in response to issues, and support risk mitigation activities across the team.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Education: BEng/MEng in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Status: Actively working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Motivation & Integrity: Demonstrate a solution-focused mindset and adherence to values of integrity, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Continuous Development: A commitment to expanding technical capabilities and contributing to group and interdisciplinary team (IDT) goals.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including the ability to clearly present complex information.
  • Safety-Oriented: Prioritize safety in all work, actively identifying hazards and challenging unsafe practices.
