Our client is looking for a technical skilled Principal or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow. Their Engineers are key to driving transformative projects that reduce carbon emissions while advancing energy security. The mechanical team within the business is at the forefront of diversifying the energy mix across the UK. The work includes power generation, natural gas cavern storage, hydrogen production and industrial decarbonisation initiatives.

 Are you a versatile mechanical engineer with strong leadership skills? As a Principal or Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage and mentor staff to support their professional growth, lead the technical delivery of mechanical engineering projects across all design phases from concept to detailed design, and coordinate team activities such as resourcing and group meetings in collaboration with the group lead. Your role will involve working on a variety of assignments, ranging from individual technical tasks to large, multidisciplinary projects.

To be eligible for this role you need:

  • A master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (IMechE Preferred).
  • A robust technical background ideally with experience in highly regulated industries (power, chemical, oil and gas).
  • Proficiency in areas such as; pipe stress analysis, equipment specification, pressure part design calculations, plant layout design or deliverable assurance and checking.
