Ever wanted to work in renewables as a Naval Architect but haven’t found the right opportunity? Been blocked from applications due to having no previous experience in green energy? Well this is the job to apply to! With zero previous experience needed in offshore wind farms to apply and one of the most experienced and best experts in the UK being your line manager and mentor this is an absolute one in a million opportunity for the right person! The business is a very forward thinking dynamic marine consultancy providing services in offshore renewable energy and shipping projects. The company was established in 2020 and has progressively built a strong network of clients and projects. Due to the company’s continuing success and positive client feedback they are looking to develop their team and you could be their next perfect hire.

What makes this role so exciting is our client is looking for someone to assist them with their company growth. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mind to join an enterprise with a proven successful track record in the early days of its development. When you work for a small business you always end up with extremely wide commercial and technical exposure as you end up having to pick up tasks you would never get the chance to in a larger business. By working for this type of business you can fast forward your career by years from the experience you will gain over a very short space of time.

They are looking to bring on someone with a Naval Architecture background that has a drive and passion for the Offshore and Renewable sector. The role requires you to support the company with ongoing work with windfarm developers, technical/management companies and solution providers. You will be assisting the company in business development through the formation of new service lines while also maintaining existing client relationships. You will also be expected to write technical reports, draft necessary project literature and any relevant technical and commercial proposals for clients. The role also gives you the opportunity to attend offshore to conduct any engineering analysis necessary for the project at hand. This role will involve both commercial and technical responsibilities which provides the ideal candidate exposure to a multifaceted business. Not only does the company provide the successful candidate a diverse level of experience but also the opportunity to influence the future trajectory of the company.

To be eligible for this role you need to:

  • Have a Naval Architecture degree or Masters.

  • Have worked in a technical role in Naval Architecture for at least 1 year. Consultancy experience would be useful but not essential.

  • Be very passionate about wind energy and working in the offshore space. Passion is likely the largest factor in getting the job!

This is a unique opportunity for a driven and ambitious candidate to join a small business with strong foundations and positive upward growth. The successful applicant will essentially become a part of the company’s foundation as they continue to expand. What makes this opportunity rare is the high exposure the role provides in both commercial and technical experience. Providing the successful candidate with a holistic understanding of consultancy within the offshore and renewable energy sector.
