This role of Junior Technical Purchaser sits within a fast-paced shipmanagement environment and plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of a global fleet. The position is responsible for supporting the procurement of spare parts, consumables, and technical services, working closely with Technical Superintendents and vessel crews. The successful candidate will assist with supplier communication, quotation comparisons, logistics coordination, and purchase order processing. This role is critical in maintaining vessel uptime, safety, and cost efficiency, ensuring that operational requirements are met promptly and accurately across international shipping routes. It offers strong exposure to maritime procurement and the opportunity to build a long-term career in the shipping industry.
- Completed commercial education in logistics, shipping, business administration, or similar discipline providing relevant foundational knowledge for procurement operations.
- Strong interest in maritime logistics, technical systems, and supply chain processes with motivation to develop industry expertise.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with ability to manage data, purchase orders, and procurement documentation accurately.
- Fluent English communication skills, written and spoken, enabling effective collaboration with international suppliers, vessels, and technical teams.
- Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset with ability to work independently and build a long-term maritime procurement career.
