Technical Quality Expert

Consortio have partnered with an established maritime consultancy providing independent technical expertise to the global shipping industry. With continued growth across specialist fuel and technical investigation services, they are now seeking a Technical Quality Expert to join their team in the Netherlands or Belgium.

This role combines marine engineering knowledge with technical analysis and investigation work, supporting clients across fuel quality assessments, technical claims, and operational disputes. The successful candidate will investigate fuel-related issues, analyse potential causes of machinery or system problems, and produce clear technical reports for a range of maritime stakeholders. The position involves a mixture of vessel attendance and office-based analytical work, offering strong variety and exposure to complex technical cases within the marine sector.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements:

• Sailing experience as a Marine Engineer within the merchant navy
• Strong technical understanding of marine fuel systems, including fuel handling, storage, and treatment
• Knowledge of marine fuels, including conventional and alternative fuel types
• Familiarity with ISO fuel standards and relevant industry specifications
• Maritime-related higher education or equivalent qualification
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills in English
• Professional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Netherlands or Belgium

Previous exposure to technical investigations, fuel analysis, or dispute-related work would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and development support will be provided.
