Our client is a large and international shipping company with deep roots in both Europe and Asia. Having over the years expanded through natural and organic growth combined with strategic acquisition they have positioned themselves to be one of the most sizable players in the market. With assets ranging from gas tankers, chem tankers, FPSO’s and dry bulk they are well positioned to extract the best profits from the market as possible. As a business they believe in moving people from their fleet and training and developing their team to be the best it can be. However once in a while there is an opportunity to join their business as no one is available to be released from their fleet to take a shore based post. Such an occurrence has arisen therefore putting our client in the position of seeking a new Marine Superintendent.

This is a role for a Marine Purchaser to work with a fleet of owned and LNGcs. You will monitor and process all fleet requests for new parts regarding the vessels under your management. A key part of this will be working closely with Superintendent’s to ensure spare parts are fit for purpose and bought at the most economical price. Under your remit, will also be handling incoming invoices and conducting analysis of supplier performance.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria;

  • Degree (Preferably maritime related).

  • 1+ year working in a maritime shore based role.

  • Previous purchasing and/or supply chain management would be advantageous.

  • Must speak fluent English.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a valued team member in one of the biggest companies in this industry. In addition to this they will offer a market competitive salary and benefits package. They also organise and fund several team social events throughout the year.
