Our client is an international shipping organisation operating a fleet of tanker vessels and maintaining high operational and safety standards across its global operations. With an established presence in London and a continued focus on operational excellence, the company provides an environment where experienced maritime professionals can contribute to the reliability, performance, and compliance of a modern fleet.

The company is currently looking to appoint a Technical Superintendent to join its London-based fleet team. In this position, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring high standards of safety, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and cost control. The role involves working closely with vessel management teams and internal departments, overseeing maintenance and repair activities, coordinating dry dockings and surveys, monitoring planned maintenance systems, and supporting the development of senior officers. The position will also require regular vessel visits, supervision of service providers, and ensuring vessels remain compliant with international maritime regulations.

The requirements for this role are,

  • Chief Engineer (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency – STCW III/2

  • Previous sailing experience as Chief Engineer, ideally on tanker vessels

  • Experience working as a Technical Superintendent or in a similar shore-based role

  • Strong technical knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs and dry docking

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both vessel and shore-based teams

This opportunity offers the chance to join a reputable shipping organisation in London with a competitive salary, international exposure through vessel travel, and long-term career development within a global maritime environment.
